Life Story
This is my third time living in Hattiesburg. First, I was born here. Second, after a short move to Baton Rouge, we moved back here where I attended first grade at Oak Grove.
After first grade, my father started seminary and became a minister of education–I spent the rest of my elementary and junior high years moving across Texas.
I went to high school in the college town of Ruston, LA. My senior year, I was the varsity team kicker.
After high school, I moved to Baton Rouge and attended LSU. After LSU, I moved to New Orleans, worked for a publishing company in a unheated and unair-conditioned warehouse where I would mow grass across the street from the Fischer Projects, warmly referred to as “The Beruit of the Westbank.”
Next, I took an office job at House of Blues in the French Quarter. While I was there I met Jude Law, John Goodman, Byron Davis, Deuce McAllister, Tommy Lasorda, Dick Vermeil, and Sammy Hagar.
