Position

Minister to Students

Verse

Really my favorite verses change from time to time depending on what I am reading or the circumstances I might be facing. Right now I would say it is Psalm 33:22 (New Living Translation). “Let your unfailing love surround us, Lord, for our hope is in you alone.”

Hero: I have several “Heroes”-First would be my wife Donna, She is an amazing person, wife, mom, and partner in ministry. Second, My parents who served a lifetime of ministry. My dad had an incredible passion for God’s word and loved to communicate the life-changing “good news of Jesus”. My mom has always had a love for students and had great creativity in sharing Christ. They also imparted a love for Jesus to two great daughters and a son who is a work in progress! Beyond that many people have invested in my life and would be heroes. If we are talking Super Hero- Spiderman!

Hobbies & activities: I love spending time with my family! All kinds of sports (watching mostly, not playing) and fishing when I get the chance.

Favorite music: I love all kinds of music, but mostly loud.

Favorite movies: Remember The Titans and The Borne Ultimatum.

Favorite Starbucks drink: The one that tastes least like coffee or whatever Terrod Jackson recommends!

Life Story

I am a preachers kid who has grown up in the church. I was blessed with parents who gave me a very real awareness that loving Jesus was a personal decision. I married my high school sweetheart and God has blessed us with three great kids! We have served full-time in three churches-Richland Hills BC in TX, FBC McComb, MS, and here at First Hattiesburg for the past ten years.

Sensing a Call

I first sensed a call to ministry in high school but never shared that with anyone. After graduating from college I shared with Donna what I felt God was calling me to do with my life and discovered that she was sensing the same thing in her life. After dating forever we were married and began a life journey with Christ that has been amazing!

Vision

Donna and I feel so blessed to be be a part of the First Hattiesburg family! I am excited and humbled by the fact that God and the people of First Hattiesburg have trusted me to lead our students to know, love, and follow Jesus! I feel that there is no more exciting place to be than to be in a position to see Christ change the lives of students.
