Hero: I have two men who I can easily call my hero. First and foremost is my Dad. I am baffled today at how much my father accomplished, especially when I consider how much time he invested in his family. He always seemed to have things under control, even when life was uncontrollable. I saw proof from him that a life built on the Lord can never shaken, no matter how bad things get.
The second is Griff Servati. He was my youth minister. The people who knew him will never forget his name (even though his last name is impossible to spell), because it is impossible to know him and not be changed by him.
Hobbies & activities: Rock Climbing, Racquetball, Tennis, Camping, Reading, Drawing, Video Games, and the occasional Crochet Session
Favorite music: A Capella rock covers(oh, they exist), Relient K, Green Day, John Mayer, Howie Day, Andrew Petterson, Amos Lee, Josh Groban, Nickel Creek, Something corporate, Anthallo, Blisse, Norah Jones, The Afters, Rich Mullins
Favorite movies: The Shawshank Redemption, The Count of Monte Cristo, The Usual Suspects, Monty Python and the Quest for the Holy Grail, Memento
Favorite Starbucks drink: I would rather not drink Starbucks, I’m sticking it to the Man!
Life Story
Instead of rambling off a list of facts for you, I think you can know me better if I told you a quick story. When I was 15 I went to a summer camp in Colorado where I set the record for the quickest time on this giant down hill slip’n’slide. Exhilarated and smelling like lake water, I went to my cabin to shower. Once I got in the bathroom I discovered that the lock was broken and I was locked in. After 10 minuets of yelling out a tiny bathroom, and then 5 more minuets of my friends laughing at me, a maintenance guy came and opened the door. Before he left, he told us the lock was still broken and that we should not close the door.
Well, in all the excitement of being locked in a bathroom I had forgotten to take a shower. Newly liberated but still smelling ripe, i decided to give that shower a second shot. Then in front of all my friends, I strolled into the bathroom and promptly slammed the door shut, immediately I heard the words of our friendly maintenance man echoing in my mind “Don’t shut the door!”
And that is pretty much my life. A few big accomplishments with a lot of embarrassing stuff in between.
