Info
Born: August 24 in Greenville, MS
Education: B.A. in Religion from William Carey, starting at New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary in the fall
Siblings: Matt
Hero: My favorite super hero is most definitely Superman, because he’s awesome… and he can fly…and he has a really cool cape. If by hero we mean normal people who have done super things then that would have to be my parents! My Dad has done more to show me what it means to love Jesus Christ by the way he lives than anyone I have ever met! And, on top of that, my mom has showed me what love truly is. She has been a constant source of encouragement in my life. And, on top of both of them, my brother Matt has always believed in me! He is basically the best brother in the world!
Hobbies & activities: I am a big sports fan! As great as they all are, basketball is the best sport ever in the universe! Go Hornets! Go! I also like reading, but that’s just not as cool as watching guys shoot a ball into a hoop!
Favorite music: Well, as everyone knows, Caedmon’s Call is the greatest band in the world. As a result, their music is awesome! I also like other Christian artists like Leeland, World Mandate, and United!
Favorite movies: There are so many great movies out there that I can’t begin to list all of my favorites. One of my newest favorites though is Dr. Seuss’s Horton Hears a Who!
Favorite Starbucks drink: Vanilla Bean Frappuccino! Yummy!
Life Story
I am a very blessed person. My parents raised me in church since 9 months before I was born! My parents truly showed me what it means to love our Great Savior, Jesus Christ! I accepted Jesus Christ’s mercy and salvation when I was eight years old. Shortly after that, my family moved to Texas, where I spent most of my life. We were there for my Dad to go to Southwestern Seminary. I wouldn’t trade that experience for anything in the world! It was in Texas that I fell deeply in love with Jesus and that I felt my call to ministry.
Sensing a Call
I have only had one great desire in my life, and it has always been to serve Jesus in ministry. For as long as I can remember I have wanted to be a pastor. I decided to go to William Carey so that I could get a religion degree from a Baptist College. I thought it would be cool to take Greek and Hebrew courses so that I could study the Bible in its original languages. Though I desire to be a Pastor one day, I am loving doing student work here at First Hattiesburg.
Vision
Very simply, our Student ministry strives to lead students to come to know Jesus, to fall in love with Him, and to follow Him for the rest of their lives!
