Life Story

I was born in Monroe, LA and moved to Mississippi in the 10th grade. I attended Jones Junior College and the University of Southern Mississippi. Once I graduated, I worked at Pine Belt Mental Health Care Resources as a Case Manager. My husband and I got married soon after I started working at Pine Belt. After working there for almost 6 years, I left my full time job to take a part time job. This allowed me to spend more time with my son, Dylan. Then, I had my second child, Landon.

Sensing a Call

My family and I started attending First Hattiesburg in 2002. We felt welcomed and loved the warmth that we felt, so we decided to join. I started working with Mother’s Day Out and Discovery Preschool. This allowed me to work and for my son to attend to preschool. I have also worked during Vacation Bible School for several years. Working with children is my Passion! As a Preschool Associate, I am able to watch our little children grow and learn about Jesus. How sweet it is! I am thankful for this church and the opportunities that I have.

Vision

My vision for First Hattiesburg is to create that warm, caring, and loving environment, and to lead the families of preschoolers to know Christ. Preschool may be the only time that some children come to church, and I hope to make that family feel comfortable in coming to First Hattiesburg. It get so excited when I see a family come worship at our church that started out in our weekday preschool program. Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.” Matthew 19:14
